The closest airport is the Traverse City Airport (TVC) and it is approx. one hour from Frankfort/Elberta. United Express, Northwest, American Eagle and Delta all fly to Traverse City. Fares can be higher to this airport.
The best option is the Detroit Airport (DTW) which is approx. four and a half hours from Frankfort/Elberta. It is a bit longer of a drive, but the airfares are inexpensive, car rental is easy, the drive is nice, plus when you add in lay-overs, it is about the same amount of time as flying to Traverse City.
Finally, the Grand Rapids Airport (GRR) is approx. three hours from Frankfort/Elberta. Midwest, American Eagle, United, Northwest, Delta and Continental all fly to this airport.

Accommodations
We recommend making lodging arrangements as soon as possible as there is limited availability in the area. The most convenient town to stay in is Frankfort, MI. There are several hotels, bed and breakfasts and inns and it is close to the wedding venue and many of the recreational activities.
The largest resort option is the Harbor Lights Resort, located in downtown Frankfort, right on Lake Michigan. We have reserved a block of rooms under the Kuebler/Hill wedding. The room block includes regular rooms, suites that sleep up to 4 people, two bedroom condos that sleep up to six people, three bedroom condos that sleep up to eight people. All reservations are a two night minimum. The block will be available until August 5, 2008.
A smaller resort with old-fashioned summer cottages is the Chimney Corners Resort. There are some old chestnut trees in the forest back behind the resort!
If you like inns and bed and breakfast, then there are several options. We were not able to reserve a block of rooms at the following places, however as of 6/9, there are a few vacancies at each. If you want to stay at these places, you should act fast.
Betsie Bay Inn is located in downtown Frankfort.
The Stone Wall Inn is also located in downtown Frankfort.
In Elberta, there is the La Rue House Bed and Breakfast.

Although it is 7 miles away from Frankfort, the Scenic Hill Resort Best Western is a clean and good option in Beulah. Beulah has bowling, stores and restaurants (most importantly the Cherry Hut) and is on Crystal Lake. A block of rooms has been reserved until July 5th (Mention Hill/Kuebler). After July 5th rooms may be availble but rates might increase.

If you want to make your visit a longer trip, you might want to look into renting a house or a cabin. In the past, we have found rentals on this website, the nearby towns are Frankfort, Elberta, Beulah, Empire, Arcadia, and Honor. You can also check the Frankfort/Elberta Chamber of Commerce's recommended list of houses/cottages and rental agencies.
